Keep things simple at first just to learn the basics of the program. Basically just using the pencil brush and the studio pen brush. I started with basic sketches and single color drawings/black and white illustrations. This app is clearly very powerful and flexible, but it’s extremely disability-unfriendly and I’ve been on the verge of tears several times just trying to do the simplest things!!! I still can’t figure out why the brush or Color I’m using keeps changing when I’m literally just HOLDING the pencil, or why sometimes one of my layers just vanishes. Presently I’ve had to Google how to do what would in photoshop be called “layer via cut”, I have read through the first THREE results and tried what they say, but none of it has worked. I haven’t successfully done ANYTHING that involves tapping or swiping with three fingers due to my shaky hands. I can’t find most common tasks in the menus, organized sensibly so that I could FIND them, but instead they expect you to memorize all of these arbitrary hand gestures, and I apparently just can’t. I have cognitive/memory issues and I managed to learn Final Cut Pro reasonably well and Photoshop quite well, yet I’m having to Google to figure out how to do the simplest things like cut and paste over and over again. I’m finding this app next to impossible to learn.
